Side-by-side vs. Tandem Strollers for Twins: Pros and Cons
Choosing a stroller can be stressful when you’re expecting twins. Not only are you looking at which one is most affordable (it’s a big investment!), but you’re also looking at which one makes the most sense for you when it comes to seating configurations. The two main options you have to choose from in regards to seating are 1) side-by-side and 2) tandem (where one sits in front of the other). Personally, we chose to have our twins sit tandem in the Baby Jogger City Select LUX double stroller for everyday use. However, we’ve also used a side-by-side stroller when on vacation and it worked great, too. Honestly, I could be happy with either. The width between the two types of double strollers is the main difference. Considering we like to take our kids to places like the mall (i.e. crowded spaces with lots of doorways to fit through), we felt the tandem was the best fit for our family.
Since I’m often asked this question, I figured it would be easiest to put a pros and cons table together to share with new moms regarding the side-by-side versus the tandem double stroller style. So, here you go!
Feel free to share this with any mom expecting twins! Also, if you have any personal experience with either, then please feel free to add comments below and I can then add pros/cons to the list, accordingly! :)
